Above are actual size of the hand mits..You placeyour thumb and finger in the slitted openings and also can hang them on the microwave when not in use.( magnet sewn inside to the batting) See instructions below..pattern may need enlarging..this is the first
pattern I have ever made...so it may not be perfect but you can get the idea.
Cut our the patterns follwing the cutting lines and leaving 1 /4 inch seam allowance as shown. there will be a total of 4 fabric pieces of A1 and A2 and 4 pieces of A3 which is the batting. then cut 2 each of B and C on the fold.. (these are where the fingers go into when done.) Fold B amd c each wrong sides together and press..then pin them to side A1 right sides together as shown in puicture above. pin and sew batting to wrong side of A2...Sew A1 and A2 together along with the batting and thumb pieces in place, leaving an opening to turn the piece when done. attach magnet inside onto batting outer edge( between batting and inisde of fabric) with some glue. turn inside ou ( D) t and sew up raw edge seam...you are done..hang them up and enjoy!
I basted in place by hand first before stitching.
add a magnet to the inside between batting and outer back layer with glue or self adhesive
Hang up on your microwave...always handy and there to use!
5 layers in all ..the left side and right side layers shown will be sandwiched togher and sewn righ side to rigght sie..leave 2-3 inch opening on the side to turn when sewn. .. press and stitch shut.
